Recommended Blender Version: 2.78 and higher. The addon also works in lower versions 2.77 and 2.76. But the addon shows an icon update problem here.

Release Notes

07.10.2016 – Version 1.0.1

A bug. There was a button missing when you had for example lights selected.

06.10.2016 – Version 1.0

Mode Tab Buttons 1.0 released. Everything is still in Beta. I just finished it. And so there can still be bugs.

One of the things in Blender that always disturbed me was the edit box to change the modes. You easily click wrong in case the mouse is still one item below. And when you click wrong then you have to open the edit box again …

And you have to read the text to know in what mode you are. The button row is more comfortable here. You immediately see in what mode you are. And what more modes are available.

And the addon fixes one more quirk. The edit box dances away when you switch the mode. Because the menu in front of it changes, dependant of the mode.

So here we go with an attempt to use a tab button row now to switch between the modes instead of the edit box.
